I am a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alabama. Previously, I was a postdoc in Engineering Education at Virginia Tech, advised by Dr. Qin Zhu (LANCSET), and received my Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Colorado School of Mines, advised by Dr. Tom Williams (MIRRORLab). My research focuses on human-robot interaction, robot identity and ethics, and compassion in STEM education.
Generally, I am interested in understanding human perspectives and how human-centered design can be applied towards developing technologies that are catered to people and their interaction needs.
